Hot Stone Reflexology

Hot Stone Reflexology is becoming an increasing popular treatment and will be a valuable addition to any therapist’s business.

The treatment combines the benefits of an individual reflexology treatment with a number of different sized smaller warmed basalt stones to enable deep stimulation of the reflex points.

It is quite a different experience to a “conventional” reflexology treatment, one that will leave your client feeling deeply relaxed.

The heat from the stones allows a deeper healing for your client and will benefit many conditions whilst also giving the therapist the chance to offer a treatment whilst easing the pressure on their own hands.

The workshop

The full day workshop will be as follows:hot stone reflexology toes

  • History of the therapeutic use of stones
  • Benefits and effects to the client and reflexologist
  • Contra Indications
  • Types of stones used for treatments
  • Hot stones and cold stones
  • Physiological and psychological effects of using stones
  • Methods of heating stones, care and cleansing of stones

To suddenly introduce an “apparatus” into you routine can feel strange to begin with so please be assured that the largest part of the day will be spent on the treatment routine, giving you plenty of time to practise until you are confident in handling the stones.

Please note that you will need to purchase a set of stones with some heating equipment to be used at the workshop.  This can be a traditional hot stone heater (which looks like a slow cooker) or you may prefer a mobile stone heating bag with may be purchased with or without the stones.  If you require any further advice before you buy, please email me and I will be happy to help.

Once you have been shown how to use the stones and are confident with them, you are then free to bring the use of them into your usual reflexology routine.
