Sinus Problems - Oh the pain! Here's an idea to help
If it works on Paul, it might work on you
The sinuses are actually little holes in the skull that are ordinarily loaded with air. They help to make the skull lighter - our heads would be so heavy otherwise!

At times, this swelling closes off the sinuses, trapping bodily fluid and air inside them which can cause bacterial infection.
The sinus infection can have a wide assortment of causes including airborne allergens, and in perhaps dietary aggravations like dairy, gluten, etc - and it can all be particular to the individual as to the cause.
A nutritionist may be a good port of call to determine what is causing your problem if you have it regularly.
Paul, my husband, gets it sometimes and the pain doesn't go easily.
I tried a reflexology treatment (which he loves and works for most things) - and this did 'something', but what actually WORKS were essential oils - yes aromatherapy comes to the rescue here every time.
A few drops on a tissue for him to inhale and it helps to clear the passages. The pain, which has been quite severe for several days is now lessened by 30-50% which is good. (Yes I know I could have done this earlier, but us therapists, well we forget what 'magic' we can do when it comes to family...)
This time I used:
Eucalytptus, Lemon and Geranium essential oils - a few drops of each on a tissue and inhale.
Apple Cider Vinegar also helps - but as he has to take Warfarin it is contra indicated. It is really important to know this - so if you are taking medication, please don't try any remedy without first checking.
If you are not on a contra indicated medication then try this: At the main indication of infection Simply take 1-2 teaspoons of unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 6 ounces of water, a teaspoon of honey to sweeten and drink 3 times each day for 5 days.
The apple cider vinegar helps to relieve congestion. Amazing benefits in Apple Cider Vinegar!
Try essential oils to help your family - I will be posting more ideas and recipes that I use for my family here, and also ones that as a professional aromatherapist I know are safe - tried and tested and trusted! Please keep an eye out for more!
